Free plan or free trial — which should you pick?

A free plan never expires but caps you somewhere — usually subscriber count, automations or branding. A trial shows the full feature set but ends after 14 or 30 days. The practical rule: with a small list, start on the free plan and only upgrade when you actually hit a limit — that way you know from experience which feature is worth your money. A trial makes most sense when you want to test one premium feature deliberately, like the automation editor.

How this list is put together

Only tools we also recommend in our comparisons make it here — no deal gets listed just because it pays a commission. Affiliate links are labelled, and offers without a partner program are still included when they are good. Whether a deal is still live is ultimately the vendor's call: prices and terms can change, and the maker's own page is always what counts.
