2. Hosting & Infrastructure

This website is hosted via Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). Cloudflare processes technically necessary data (IP address, timestamps, browser information) to deliver the website and protect against attacks (DDoS protection). Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest: secure website operation). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More info: Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

3. Automatically Collected Data (Server Logs)

When you visit our website, the following data is automatically collected:

• IP address (anonymized)
• Date and time of access
• URL accessed
• Referrer (previously visited page)
• Browser and operating system

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention period: 30 days, then automatic deletion.

4. Cookies & Consent (§ 25 TDDDG)

We use Google's consent banner (Google CMP under IAB TCF v2.2) through which you can consent to or decline optional cookies.

Statistics, advertising & marketing cookies (consent required, § 25(1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR):

Only after your consent via the banner do we load statistics and analytics services (Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity), advertising (Google AdSense), and the Pinterest tag — details in Section 5. In addition, affiliate tracking cookies from our partner programs are set (see Section 7), which enable conversions to be attributed to our website. Without consent, these services remain disabled (Google Consent Mode v2).

5. Web Analytics & Advertising

Cloudflare Web Analytics: We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare Inc.) for privacy-friendly reach measurement. The service works without cookies and without cross-site tracking of individual visitors; no identifiers are stored in your browser and no personal profiles are created. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in privacy-friendly analytics).

Google Analytics 4: Only with your consent via our cookie banner (§ 25(1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) do we load Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-20VYZYWDSK; provider Google Ireland Ltd.) with IP anonymization to understand website usage and improve content. Data may be transferred to the USA (safeguarded by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).

Microsoft Clarity: Only with your consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) do we load Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corp.). Clarity produces pseudonymous usage analyses (e.g. heatmaps and aggregated session evaluations). Data may be transferred to the USA on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Google AdSense: On individual pages we embed advertisements via Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-4778511354199481; provider Google Ireland Ltd.). Depending on your consent, personalized or non-personalized ads are served; cookies for ad delivery and measurement may be set for this purpose. Legal basis: § 25(1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

Pinterest tag: To measure the success of our Pinterest content, the Pinterest tag is embedded (provider: Pinterest Europe Ltd., Ireland; Pinterest Inc., USA). It only becomes active after your consent and then processes pseudonymous usage data. Data may be transferred to the USA on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Legal basis: § 25(1) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the cookie banner (privacy settings).

6. Newsletter & Email Marketing

We offer a free newsletter and lead magnets on our website. We collect your email address upon registration.

Provider: Brevo (Brevo SAS, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France). Your email address is transmitted to and stored by Brevo; processing takes place within the EU. More information: Brevo Privacy Policy.

Transmission: Sign-up happens via forms on our website that first send your email address to our own server endpoint (/api/subscribe). That endpoint only triggers the confirmation email; your address is stored only after you confirm (/api/confirm).

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). Consent can be withdrawn at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.

Double opt-in: We use the double opt-in procedure. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email and will only be added to our mailing list after clicking the confirmation link.

7. Affiliate Tracking & Partner Programs

Our website contains affiliate links to the following partner programs. When you click these links, cookies from the respective providers are set in your browser (only with your consent via our cookie banner):

8. Third Country Transfers

Some of the above providers process data in the USA or other third countries. These transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards: EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, Pinterest), Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR (GetResponse, MailerLite), or adequacy decisions by the EU Commission. Please refer to each provider's privacy policy for details.

9. Feedback via the improvement button

At the foot of every page you can send us a short piece of feedback. We store only what you type yourself: your text, optionally an e-mail address so we can reply, plus the page you were on, whether your screen is small or large, and the time. No IP address is stored and no cookie is set, so the feature works regardless of your consent choices for statistics or advertising. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in improving this site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); if you provide an e-mail address, we process it solely to answer you. The data is held in a database at Cloudflare and is deleted once the feedback has been dealt with, at the latest after 24 months. You may object to this processing at any time (Art. 21 GDPR).

You have the following rights against us as the data controller:
